"ATTENTION CHICAGO"
SEARCHLIGHTS - FLOOD LIGHTS - SPOT LIGHTS, or as the Hollywood lighting industry calls them KLIEG LIGHTS!
Whatever you may call them, Big Sky has the largest fleet of search light rental, flood light Rental, spot light rental or klieg lights in the Chicago, Milwaukee, Indianapolis or St. Louis areas.
Our searchlight rental fleet are all truck or trailer mounted, ready to roll to your special event. Big Sky introduced modern searchlights, flood lights, spot lights or klieg lights to the Chicago area in 1989. Xenon technology is carrying on the tradition for the older, World War II (carbon arc) searchlight units.
World War II (carbon arc) searchlights were built by General Electric and Sperry during the 1940's for use in WWII. The WWII Searchlights were used to spot enemy aircraft trying to bomb bridges and other key target during the dark of night. After WWII, these searchlights found their way to places like Chicago, Minneapolis, Milwaukee and St. Louis and other major cities around the USA.
Pre WWII, these searchlights were used for special events like The Worlds Fair in Chicago in 1933. (You can see searchlights in a Normon Frasier official World's Fair 1933 poster).
Hollywood has carried on the tradition using searchlight for all their galla events, even Chicago's Fox News uses searchlights in their logo.
So whether you call them search lights, flood lights, spot lights or klieg lights, give Big Sky Balloons & Searchlights a call.
We are based in the Chicagoland area. |
